These beaded leather fringe bracelets are hand made
by the Barabaig in Tanzania. The bracelets are
beaded in 7 different clan color combinations
and compliment our beaded scarves. Links are removable to
adjust the size.
The Barabaig are masters at beaded leather
fringe. The leather fringe is just as much a product of
mastery as their beadwork. The leather is carefully cut
by hand with a knife over the base of a gourd. And, the
beaded color combinations on the bracelets have special
meaning to the Barabaig. Every color combination refers to
Barabaig spiritual colors or to a specific Barabaig
clan, each having their own special skills and powers.

2" wide by 7" long with a brass toggle clasp.
